Chemical Washes

Chemical washes promote mud removal in cementing operations.

Effective mud removal is essential for successful cementing operations. Surfactant additives such as chemical washes (thinning fluids) and cement spacers (thickened, weighted fluids) should be implemented to separate mud from cement and boost compatibility. Al Moghera has devised effective mud removal additives for oil and gas cementing, including chemical washes for thinning both water-based and oil-based muds and a surfactant/solvent blend specifically formulated for oil industry drilling operations to easily remove oil-based mud in advance of cement placement.

Our offerings include:

Chemical Wash

Water-Based and Oil-Based Mud thinning, dispersing, and removal

Multipurpose Solvent

Effectively dissolves and disperses oil-based or synthetic drilling muds

Spacer Surfactants

Prevent mud incompatibility and improve bonding between the formation and the pipe

Al Moghera’s spacer surfactants achieve the following benefits:

  • Reducing injection pressure
  • Water-wetting properties improve bonding to the formation and pipe
  • Facilitating treatment fluid return
  • Lowering treating solutions’ surface and interfacial tensions
  • Effective in a wide range of well temperature, from 75 to 400°F (24 to 204°C) BHC
  • Can be used in unweighted or weighted spacers
